windshieldwasher pump

Post by gregb on Sun Oct 18, 2015 11:06 am

pump runs but wont suck, pretty simple system with the 2 little gears.
I even caulked to ensure no airleaks?
is this just a throw away thing ? are the pumps readily available ?
cheers

Thought someone would have chimed in by now . No that doesn't sound original. But it is impossible to find "original" new parts for the 1st gen pump that is normally mounted on the wiper motor. If some one has they haven't mentioned it and I have tried myself. Sounds like you have an aftermarket cure.

The pump will only suck when primed. you need a check valve to keep it from draining back to the bag when not in use.

I'm not to up on the 2nd gen stuff so don't have a clue. I know a lot of stuff doesn't, although similar a lot of times is a No go for swapping.
