Trans Bushings?

The transmission linkage keeps getting caught up in my van. I've heard the problem is worn out bushings of the linkage conections at the bottom of the coloum.I was wondering if anybody had a part number for these or knows where I can get them. Let me know,

Are these the same as the powerglide bushings?

The split bushing is a must, you put one on each side and slip the rod yoke over them.  Its near impossible to push a whole grommet style through the holes unless the shifter is out and in hand.  I just did mine at both ends with the correct NOS GM ones.  The rear are grommet style with a 1/2" hole and 1/4" wide slot, some NOS ones are around....the rear also have a pair of thin, I think they are like .020", spring steel thrust washers on each side of them that are always missing, they keep the bushing from twisting and tearing up when you shift.  I found them at McMaster industrial supply.

Donivan, are these for the 3speed manuals and powerglides?

These are for pick ups,,,,,,,you need to measure what size holes and rod size you got,,,,,and maybe someone generous here in the Los Angeles area can go over to this store and give them 50 cents and slap it in an envelope to you to solve one of our problems,,,,,,,

Pretty sure the split ones listed for 67-72 fits the 1st gen and that's the one's I used in the front, but like Doni says, see if the center hole is the same size as the front rod pin.  I tried the one piece shown from Dorman, same bushing, but they are nearly impossible to push through the hole laying on your back, the spilt ones go in in seconds.  Its also fishy because it says "four" required"?, you only need two one piece, the four halves would be for the split style, the shop manual shows the split style for 1st Gen vans, View A shown below.   Here is an original 1st Gen rear rod bushing, its a hard rubberlike grommet and the replacement washers I found for the ones shown in the manual View C scanned below.  Regular steel 1/2" washers are too thick and will bind.  I used a combination of the .031 and .047's.  I still have 6-7 of each since I had to buy them in ten packs, so if you are missing them, PM me and I will be happy to share a few while they last...MAC over at VCVC had a supply of the rear grommets but they should be available somewhere too, its 1/2" ID with a 1/4" wide groove.
