I know, I'm crazy, but if a Hurst shifter will bolt up to a 67 ,3 speed I'm thinking of running it up threw the floor over the top of the dog house and forward to the drivers seat. There will be a lot of "thro" but think of all the mechanism I can eliminate. Not to mention I think It would be too cool.Any thoughts?

Re: Hurst shifter
ive seen the use of a 3 speed floor shift conversion kit. similar to a hurst. it was mounted in front of the engine, and the rods were modified and lengthened. I didn't get a real good look at how. installing it behind the doghouse and up over it might make the throw unbearable, and really difficult to access the engine without removing the shift arm. I can see it being more complicated than cool. . . unless youre going for that whole ratfink rat rod thing.

I never gave the ratfink a thought until you mentioned it.

Re: Hurst shifter
In the 60's there were so many aftermarket 3 speed shifters made & sold. Hurst was the best yet even "Fenton" (wheels) made them way before the wheels came out!! Swap meets should be full of them!
