Shortening brake pedal height

The brake pedal on my '67 G is quite high. You really have to raise your foot to get on it.
I'm thinking of removing the pedal shaft, shortening it, & re-threading the end. All of this to get the pedal closer to the floor. Actual travel is only an 1" or 2".
Has anyone tried this or have any input?
I've also been looking at the 90 degree, right angle, power brake boosters. Looks pretty close, but I think I'd have to make my own brackets to get it to fit.

Back in 1966 my father bought a brand new Econoline. I never had an issue with the hight of the pedal. you will get used to it in very little time.

That pushrod bolt is a cam,,,,,,,,you might get that pedal to sit lower a bit by turning it,,,,,

when you shorten iot & fluid  gets low -or brakes wear = Guess what = on the floor & no brakes! These are NOT modern vehicles. ||If it isnt BRAKE?? Dont "FIXIT"!

Just wondering if the rubber bumper on pedal shaft below the floor is in place. Some pics would be good for sure and maybe a measurement from the floor to pedal to check against.

My same thoughts, maybe missing the bumper and/or the stop washer is missing, rusted off or lower than it should be or the floor is pushed up causing the high pedal?

Thanks - I'll take a look at the bump stop. Maybe I'm just being too particular. Just seems really high to me.
I'll try posting some pics. But so far I haven't had any luck with that.

Checked for the bump stop. Looks to me like everything is there & in place.

m1d - Thanks for the picture of your brake pedal. At least now I know mine is where it's supposed to be, it's the same as yours. Still seems really high.

just saw this post and im like you. i felt it to be way to high also so i cut it down 2". seems just right . i also heated up the pedal end and bent it a bit for better geometry

ive also felt its too high...kinda gotten used to it..might be safer if you lost fluid or got air, but prolly less safe if you have to make a super fast transition from accelerator to brake...ive thought of shortening but havent..

One day you might unexpectedly appreciate the extra travel.

if you ever have a brake fluid leak in the rear sys or the front sys,
you will then appreciate the extra travel these pedals have.
if you shorten the throw and you develop a sudden leak you will not
have enough pedal travel left to get it stopped.
