Overhaulin' A100 Van Empty Overhaulin' A100 Van

    Post by farrellsx6 Wed Mar 26, 2014 11:38 am

My '66 Dodge A100 got chosen for an upcoming episode of Overhaulin'!

My wife went to the overhaulin.tv site and applied to have my van Overhauled. They got back to her fairly quickly, from what I am told. And they have been conniving for weeks now. The format of the show this season is different from the past, in that I know where my van is. It's almost worse though, because I cannot think about anything else!

As for when they got my A100, last Sunday, I can't give up what happened -but I will say this: Chris Jacobs, the co-host of the show, got me GOOD! It will be VERY entertaining to watch and my reaction is raw and real. I'd be interested in reading all of your responses when it airs (not until December). But keep in mind, when you watch, the Producers asked my wife to be sure I didn't have access to any weapons at the time they came to get my van.

And though I get the van back in 6 weeks I can't post pictures until after the episode is broadcast.
However, those of you near the San Fernando Valley may hear stories about a sick A100 cruising around L.A. in the near future!

Were there costs involved to have them update your van ? I went to the website years ago, seemed there were some heavy fees involved (at that time )

Thanks to all of you. I have to admit it's like a dream come true...winning the automotive lottery. And it does suck for people in other parts of the country. I'm pretty sure I was chosen because I live close to their shop.
I'm also glad that they chose a vintage van. I'd be happy to watch an episode of Overhaulin' that featured an older van. It seems like classic cars always take center stage and we're the fanatics off on our own.

No fees were involved...Man, I wish I could tell you what happened when they took the van, it's funny now, in hindsight. It'll definitely make for good tv.

I was told the episode will air in December, so far that's all I know. I'll post an update when I find out the date.

Trust me I realize I am one lucky S.O.B., the sad part is I had a lot of good money in that van already. Edelbrock intake/carb, Mallory ignition, Hedman Hedders, Duel Flowmasters...Most of that was only a year old. But everything else on the van was between 40-47 years old.
I wish I could get that stuff back and just give it to someone else!

    Thanks guys!

Yeah it's killing me to know nothing about the build he's going to do. I, literally, lay awake at night wondering how it will come out. I mean this is my daily driver too.

My wife knows, but she won't tell me anything about the design she chose.

Congratulations farrellsx6, that is great for you.

I would be a little nervous too. I guess the one thing you can do is to instruct your wife to tell Overhaulin-crew the things that you like. I think you have already thought about that. You said that you will get it back after six weeks. Is that the normal build time for their projects or is there any "normal" to the time? They seem to do a variety of vehicles in the show.
