First of all, new to the forum... So, hello all!

We just acquired an A100(curbside vision) van that we are in process of fixing up. First on my list of stuff to acquire is a new grill and front and rear bumpers. Ours are in rough shape… and ultimately we want to get these chromed, so if I can find them that way, perfect! I know, I know… not likely. It never hurts to ask. Regardless we are in the Kansas City area... anyone from the area have a good source for A100 stuff?

the bumpers are not a easy find , last week i seen a chrome grill in calf, going for $450.00 and that was new, finding a used chrome grill in nice shape is next to impossible. Aused stock grill are still aval, keep your eyes on a100 parts for sale. and post what you want under a100 parts wanted...

I'm rather new here too, but anyway: Welcome!

We had the grille coated with a kind of paint. Looks like th real thing but is not as expensive:

    Welcome!
Check out your local chrome shops, mainly reputation. Everyone's price is going to make you faint. If you don't have anything good nearby, you will have to go with shipping.
I've heard good things about Ogden Plating, and there are the guys that advertise in Hemmings.

I have my grill and the rear diamond plate heavy duty commercial step bumper that was on the van out getting powder coated right now. I went with powder coating the grill the same color as the body instead of having the grill chromed because I like that look better. I am having the front bumper straightened & chromed though. All the parts should be ready for pick up soon. The cost for blasting the grill and rear bumper and then powder coating each came out to about $280; pretty reasonable in my opinion.

I had my grill striped down and all cleaned up took it to a powder coat guy. he said no matter what the part was min, charge was $75.00 to sand blast and then we'd talk price, so i took it home and just painted it,

A friend of mine had one part chrome-painted for his REO truck with this new painting technology. It was the hood ornament sitting right next to another part that had real chrome and it was also just re-plated. I could not tell the difference between the two parts which was chromed and which was painted. I was very impressed.

Welcome to VV. the bumpers are very hard to find in decent shape. Chroming a bumper can be anywhere from 350.00 up, depending how much prep work it will take. Front grill about the same. Post some pics when you can. again welcome.

I've had good luck with "the bumper shop" in Los Angeles. I even will cautiously recommend them:  http://thebumpershop.com They travel to car shows often, maybe they are coming to one near you.  You can save shipping by meeting them at a show.  I've had two pairs of early chevy bumpers done by them, and I'm happy with the work and price so far.  They are hundreds of $ less than the local jackass chrome shop who I will never use again.
