A couple of my roof supports are bent & I want to use the unbent ones from my parts van, what's the best way to remove the roof supports so that I can reuse them?

Get a spot weld cutting bit and simply drill out the spot welds.

I ending up cutting the inner roof rail and taking them out that way. I wasn't concerned with saving anything of the donor van. I was more interested in getting the ribs out. They are very thin metal and won't take much abuse. I thought it would be much easier to seperate the welds on my workbench than trying to do it all overhead. My parts van was a total pile so no loss there. The roof ribs were the best thing I go off it. LOL.

Thanks guys, I don't plan on saving the parts van so I'll go the econopoor way.

I have to do this myself, oh what fun. I going to drill them out because they are on my driver.

I did it... not too bad with a sharp spotweld cutter.

Got my roof supports off with part of the inner roof rail, now I need to finish the job drilling the spot welds I'm thinking of getting this cutter set but would welcome other suggestions.

I will be cutting more parts from the van so I want something decent.

I just did mine ... pilot holed with an 1/8" drill bit then followed with a 3/8" ... broke the spot weld ... no two spot welds the same so if you want to reinstall just turn the brace around ...
