Being a vw fan myself, that is freaking nuts. That's worth around 5-7k to the right guy any day if not more. Split windows prices have gone through the roof. If you can give that baby a home do it. The size of the rear window says its around a 1966.

Making me miss my 1962 vw bus I had a few years back.

It is rusty, but it is complete. Junk it? For what...a hundred bucks a ton?? The head lights are probably worth that..
I asked how much they wanted for it and the gal behind the counter said she had first crack at it so its not going to be crushed.

Remember at $250-$275 PER TON alot of stuff is going to the crusher. My buddy owns a crush yard and I can't go there to often, because I bring them home. Luckily my buddy that works for my other buddy know what I like so I get first crack. Really sad part is , i've seen a lot of nice 70- 80 cars and trucks just getting crushed. I still run older stuff for my daily's and it is getting way hard to find piece to keep them alive. Bob

Local goverment in this case. The town of Rome WI is growing with vacation homes for big city slickers from Chi-town and southern WI. Big dollar stuff, so they are making people clean up the land that they are paying their ever rising taxes on so that Thursten and Lovie Howell don't have to look at it. I've learned that this is what happened in this case.

    67.

I'm actually a die-hard VW person. I had a fair share of bugs, and then converted to buses. I have stepped back from the VW scene because the market has become super inflated. I have my 65 econo and I'm happy with it. I know it's not a cash cow, but I'd feel more comfortable driving it across the country then I would a vw. Hate to say that, but it is what it is.
