Re: 5 speed trans in 64 E-100
Sorry, but a "kit" never was made. Too many variables. It is a really simple design. The shifter goes through the floor, so when you put the shifter in the first gear position, under the floor the other end is in the reverse gear position. So you need to reverse the direction of movement. A pivot in the linkage like the "z" bar on the clutch. One for the forward to rear movement and one for the side to side movement. I used one of the original shift rods for the for/aft movement to a "z" bar and then a small piece of linkage back to the trans. For the side to side movement, I used a short piece of linkage from the shifter to a pipe running lengthwise with bearings on each end so it can rotate and one "ear"on the front end facing down and another "ear" on the rear end facing up, and then a short piece of linkage going back to the trans. This pipe acts as the "z" bar so when you move the shifter inside to the left, under the floor it moves right, and at the trans it moves left again. It sounds more complicated than it really is. Basically, you need the shifter on the trans to move the same direction as you move the shifter inside.

The shifter set-up is really easy to fab if you understand my explanation. I have forgotten how to post pics, and haven't had any luck trying. I might be able to send pics to your phone via text if I can transfer them back to my phone from the computer, or I can try to explain it to you verbally by phone if you are interested. Feel free to call me at 803-429-2578

Hi there
I just sent you a message
I'm currently swapping the motor for a 302 and want to go with a 5 speed as well
We're have trouble figuring out linkage possibilities
Hope to hear back

Dan,
If you'd like to send them to me, I'd put them in this post for you. I'm kinda interested in it too, although I'm not that far along. My email is jrdunn96@yahoo.com.
