These are great vans, I've owned 3 of them. My first car was one of these....but.......

.....they're not as much fun as an early. They all seem to have rust on the frame where the steering box is bolted requiring a lot of work. They are hard to get parts for, harder than earlys I think, and they have almost zilcho resale value. People just don't seem to care about them much.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Did those have frames or were they uniibodies? My father had a '72 E200, stripper, AM radio.
I just don't remember the doghouse being that huge.

These vans I think in the future will be worth the most just because know one is actively trying to save them now. Someday they will be the rarest vintage vans for this very reason.

They are large vans, as large or even larger than work vans you see on the road nowadays. They're a unibody frame. I sold my 3rd one, an E-100 window van with no options except windows. I wouldn't doubt they might be very collectible in the future, especially the ones with the Quadravan option (4X4). When I sold my last one (just a few months ago) I had a lot of guys looking at it just as a work van, they didn't see the vintage value, just saw it as a good work van.
