All this is exactly why I do not wish to do my van up like a Mystery Machine any longer, even though it once was one. If I do anything like that, it will be a Scooby-Doo themed van instead, without the flowers and stuff...more Tiki Campy type of thing. Thanks for affirming this for me!

Yeah, a co-worker's been bugging me to repaint my van to look like the Scooby-Doo van. He says, "Just think of all the people who will stop you!".

My reply, "But I don't want to be stopped."

I already have a 1950 classic and driving that on errands requires some patience as people invariably ask "What year is that?" or some such question that I don't think really gives them the information they really want, such as, "What's it like driving one of those heaps?" and if they really did ask that they wouldn't have the time for an honest description.

Besides, I never saw Scooby-doo when I was a kid (I was already in college when it came along) and recently I bought a DVD pack of the 1st season or two. Other than when the van appears or Scooby actually tries to say something, it's like Chinese water torture. Asinine plots and bargain basement animation. But I guess if it was something one grew up with it would be different.

Well the latest Mystery Machine (as seen in some newer ScoobyDoo movies) is an 80's/90's Chevy Caravan minivan!
