    68 Sportvan 108 Empty 68 Sportvan 108

I am also a new member to this site, (though I've visited many times before), andI have a few questions .
    1: I have a 1968 Chevy Sportvan 108 (12-window). The title says it's a 'P' series van. What's the difference between this and the 'G' series?
2: The previous owner installed a '92 GMC Truck 350/700r4 combo along with the steering column, guage cluster, computer and wiring. (If I can add the photos, you can see the hack job he did) Does anyone have original parts they dont want or want to sell? I am looking for these parts online, but many of the nation's yards have crushed (ugh) these vans.
3: Did any of these vans come with an independant front suspension from the factory? I saw a 67 GMC with this type but the driver wouldn't talk to me about the van.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. This is my first full project vehicle and want to get it done soon, or at most in the next 3 years.

Welcome to the site!!!! If you have a 68 Sportvan it's a "G" series, "P" series are like UPS trucks. So it a error on your title.

As far as your engine if it was done right I would keep that upgrade

All Chevy vans from 64-70 came with a straight axle in the front

Thanks for the quick reply. I do plan on keeping the 350/700r4 combo, but with an aftermarket computer. The items needed are the steering column and box, and the door hinges. I found the door and window seals here in MN at Steele Products, except the front window laces.

If that later model column works I would keep that too....
