Update on Drag Van, Got a 454 BB out of a running 1 ton ,crew cab, dually,campers specail(man that truck is long) Help pull it after I saw & heard it running. Hope it fits on van X member & motor mounts .New doghouse should be enough room

Going to put in a van PG for now ,just to get it moving again(who knows how long the van's been setting waiting??)
Might have to change name of project to Bad Mojoe?? Got van in blizzard, bought motor in rain down pour,flash flood???

Looks like a GM pickup X-member?? also - to identify rear end?? How about pulling the gearset & lookin for some id or mfg 3'S=?? only might need some lube & gasket?? Then u'll know.

The Park nob looks like the pic you posted Rod. Do you kow what yeaer & car its out of??

62-65 Dodge or Plymouth.Doesn't look like a Dart/ Va;iant, so it's probably a B body (coronet/Satellite).

Dan, I scraped some of the gumk off the drivers side (front )of the rear end & its got GM casted in it, also found some # 8725889 & under it was E764 ? ? Dug out TC & flex plate out of my shed last night(Way in the back) ,& picked up PG & rad ,and a couple drive shafts today at van barn. Hope to clean it up before putting it in.

Getting a little closer. Did get motor cleaned & painted last week, Got brakes fixed yesterday(Now they work(LOL) Also put PG & TC on motor & bolted it all together. Hopefully it will all be one soon

Got to redo trans mount,thought it was going to work,got a strap holding it up for now Rewired the doghoust today

Figured out the front seat tilts forward to get to motor(good thing )Now I see why he(who ever you are??) did the shifter tower(Or whatever you call it??)

Joe, I took one of my spare 108 DS and cut it down to 8 inches. It runs & drives(& stops),only gone about 1/4 of block(but it was a Fast 1/4 block) Now no $$,no work & winters coming. It & the other 5 vans might be for sale,along with Ton O parts

pulled out windshield (new gasket&sealer)cleaned out drip edg,rust coated & resealed

rust treated whole roof(all bondo & paint was cracked & rusting under it, after setting outside for 20-30 years?? 3 coats of hibuild primer ,sand,3 coats of white,4 coats of clear Now its dry inside for the winter(I hope)

That roof looks really good Tom! I saw how much work you had on your hands that day I stopped by. Glad it is all sealed up for winter.

Well, another update. Got the 64 from Indy& rented a place to store 64 ND &68 G-20[img][/img]
So 65 takes a ride& gets to say goodbuy to the new kid 64 Custom[img][/img]
Took it for ride to my house for some winter metal &,bodywork. Spent Many hrs with the grinder & 4 inch wire wheel striping the many coats of paint & bondo off the front & right side.

Crappy pics but does show progress. Got about a 5 gl bucket full ofBondo out of front. Used a heat gun & puddy knife frist, then my old friend grinder & 4 in wire wheel.Must of got hit some time ago. They did the old drill ton of holes & slid hammer, then Ton o bondo. It was all craked and had water getting behind it(like roof)

Used the WW on the R side, Only 2 or 3 skim coats of bondo,5 coats of paint & 2(or 3) coats fo primer. Got some metal repairs to do. Panel behind ft bumper, behind both ft turn sig,R ft door,R ft wheel rocker(behind wheel flare ) & bottom of R side door(so far??)

You're the guy for the job Tom ! Bondo, another reason not to invest in shiny paint when buying one. Started finding that on my 66. Only they didn't bother to try pulling the dents first..LOL I know you'll get her looking good!

More pics of my progress. Had rust out at bottom of rocker behind flare,and it was coming lose at bottom so cut part of flare out and found this

The lip was cut off,and a new one was welded on with pieces of melal to hold it out,and make frame for the fiberglass mat. The whole bottom was gone. Got a bunch of sand out. Can't seem to post more than 1 pic.

You are really moving along! Great progress, remember eat the elephant one bite at a time.
