Looking for pictures of a v8 swap in a Econoline

Post by Donn on Thu Feb 03, 2011 7:16 am

I might be putting a v8 into an Econoline in the near future.
I am looking for pictures of a small block in an econoline. I would like to get an idea on how the sent up looks, be able to see how everything fits when done. From reading some posts on here I see that there are two different size cross members.. Would like to hear what others that have already done the conversion think, maybe some ideas on the best way to go. I want to do a manual trans but would consider an automatic. I have seen some how to's on other sites but would like to hear from someone here who has first hand experience.
Any tricks, suggestions etc..would be much appreciated
    Thx

Hey Donn, your best bet might be to talk to Vic (old skool) when I was thinking about this route I contacted him.Great guy lots of info and pics.He makes or sells most of what you will need to make it happen . Also specializes in auto conversions.

    Donivan65,

Thank you, That is exactly what I was looking for!!
It looks like you used the "newer" crossmember, '65-''67?
Also the cut out for the dog house is what I wanted to see.
The pick up that Hopefully I am buying has the floor cut out, but the owner has a replacement from another van. I was thinking if someone has the measurements I would install the motor then pre-cut the floor, then put in.
