After much hassle it was picked up today. The owner said they were real strange....Which at this point make sence..He took picture's of the van at all sides while it was on the truck, just in case..He was a cool guy to buy a van from very understanding through all this.
Will update when, if, it makes it here....
I am betting they get here at like 4am to unload..

After a lot of hassle's with the transport company my "new" 66 Econo 4x4 made it here!!
The body is very clean, I don't see any rust at all..It looks like it had one paint job over the original paint. It is peeling and will need to be stripped, but a very nice body.
The motor runs strong, no smoke on cold start up, sounds healthy. There is a carb issue it does not get fuel on cold start. It seem's to be fairly new, but the is a leak at the base. Have to shoot a little gas into it cold then it runs decent. Frame also very good, no rust. The 4x4 system is jeep transfer case with jeep axles, so I am told.
I have not really got all over it yet but so far it looks very good.
It is a beast though. I have to climb to get up into the driver seat and I am 6'3. Make's my 67 look small.
Looks like a nice project... Smile

Looks like you did real well on that one. I've always liked these with a 4X4 conversion. I'd like to see some shots of the 4X4 setup.

Had to do a little "trimming" to get the 4x4 into the garage. Took about 4 inches off the doorway entrance. Van fit in with about 1/2 inch clearance,
after taking the roof vent off, but at least she is in and safe. Might have to rest it for a while so I can Finally try and paint the '67..

that is one sweet ride. I think it is time I took a ride over to see you (or the van ) maybe over the holiday.
So is the 67 on the block or did you convince the wife to keep both ?

    Mike,

You are welcome to come over any time. I am retired so feel free. I am going to pm you my number.
There is another member here that is from LI maybe we could all hang one night?
The plan right now is to paint the '67 and maybe put it up on ebay with a reserve I could live with. It will be hard after a year of hard work,but..
I really want a PU with an 8cyl either Ford or Dodge, some of the one's here really got me wanting one. Maybe once it's painted I'll post it here and see if I could maybe trade for one. Either way no hurry, right now it's great to have two...

Spent the day under the '66. Used engine cleaner to try and get years of crud off the trans, transfer case etc.. Scraped off a bunch of dried dirt.
Can't believe how good the body and frame are. No rust at all.. Still needs some more cleaning, but it's getting there..

    Thanks Robswb,

The weather here has sucked, it has been 40 or below for weeks.
I have not done anything on the van, it's killing me. I need to buy a heater for the garage, but with Christmas coming it's not happening.
Got to get some long John's and man-up
