I think I made a early chevy parts discovery

I'm pretty sure these are the same nice mirror as our sportvans (the fancy ones) , the sad news is they are the same as older Cadillac and they are $$$

I have never seen a sportvan factory with those mirrors.
I thought 1st and 2nd gen vans came with the swan mirror with the three hole base as the fancy option because thats what I've seen on most. even on the deluxe. Did the very rare super deluxe have those?

you don't see them often on sportvans they were a option. billski has them on his 66 sportvan. I bought a NOS set a while ago for my 64. I don't have a good picture showing them on his van

the swan mirror you have and everyone wants were the ones that came with the vans if you didn't order special mirrors

Well they are very nice mirrors.
I guess they were not a dealership installed item and had to ordered from the factory "pre-assembly" of the van because the door requires a different skin absent of the ordinarly spot welded in 3 bolt mirror mount and the mount for those cuctom mirrors installed.

They are abviously super rare, I've seen hundreds of vans, I have seen those mirrors on so few vans I thought they were an owner installed customization.
Is there any pictures in the old sales brochers?

The first time I seen them I also thought they weren't stock. They only came on the Deluxe's. As we all have seen Delluxes without them they must have been a option even on the Deluxe Sportvans. Maybe someone out there can look for us if they have any sales items

Acvtually now your joging my pornographic memmory.

I do believe the "Super" word was used on GMC handibus. The handibus came in deluxe, custom deluxe and I was told there was the very rare Handibus super custom , but I have not actually seen one.

Sadly there isn't a list like this for GMC's, I 'm sure the numbers are smaller than chevy. And being GMC is the higher end in GM's truck area there could very well be a Super model
