I'm looking for a carb for my '65 240ci, but I'm not exactly sure what to look for. I know there are different carbs for manual and auto transmissions... I have a manual transmission. Will this Holley carb work for me?...

When I got my '64 econo the PO gave me plenty of parts in boxes. Now that its at the paint shop I'm trying to put together the heater, among other things. I thought it looked complete, and I even got a new heater core in one of the boxes. However, the core isn't stock, and just has in and out valves - no way to regulate the water flow. I'm also missing the knob for the fan, and I think some parts for the floor inlet vent. Add to that a lot of rust and crud, almost non-existent direction ...

Im new to the site and have a ton of questions but to start off I need to know what oil filter (size) I should be putting on my 61 Econoline P/U.

A buddy of mine who has been helping me work on the truck put one on and when I was driving it yesterday the rubber seal managed to blow out.... oil everywhere now and I'm thinking that the size of the oil filter was not correct.

Anyone have an answer for me. I have a Fram in it now and know I can access that make here ...

Hey guys, I am looking into finding out more about the 1961-67 line of Econoline pickup trucks in hopes of finding one for restoration. But first I want to educate myself on the history of the truck, see if there are any distinct differences between the years, find out what the stock options and what extra options were available from the factory and go from there. My goal is to find one that can be restored to stock/everyday driver so I'm not really interested in info on mods. I have checked ...

The other day I took a 10 mile round trip around town. As I pulled into my driveway, the wires attached to the ignition began to smoke and burn. I immediately turned off the ignition and the wires stopped burning. I let it sit for a few minutes and attempted to start the van again. The wires began to smoke and burn again!! I decided I should start to give updates on my '66 240 econo project. The van was a real shaggin' wagon when I got it with walls, ceiling, and doors shod in shag carpet and wood paneling. It really would've been nice back in it's day. But that day is gone. when I pulled off the wall panel, all was good, but the roof liner was a different story. The sun roof and rear vent leaked which rotted out the roof braces. One of them came right down. The roof itself was bad ...

First I have looked all over online, and I can not find anyone who offers weather stripping for my van. I have not checked my local parts store but is this where everyone is getting their weather stripping for windows and doors? Next I have two panels that have had the seems start to come apart. I figure that getting them apart is not all that tough, but what is used to bond them. Is it a JB Weld type or something else. THANKS ALL!

best place to mount trans cooler?

Checked the tranny oil pan bolts today one hour after parked and I couldn't believe how hot my tranny still was

Leades me to assume that it doesn't get much cooling from the Radiator and might be the cause for the stinky smell that developes beyond 70 mp/h.

So I thought external tranny cooler, but where to mount it?

It's pretty crowded in front of the rad with the belly pan and brake lines.

Maybe under the floor behind driver seat? Angled towards the ground?

Anyone done that?

Cheers ...

Hey all, I was thinking the other day how ford used to use parts from other cars to save on cost. I was looking for an adapter for my gauges to use aftermarket gauges under the original face plate and no one makes it, but they do make one for a 57-60 ford truck and it looks the exact same. So I came up with this idea.

1. we should start a interchange list for the falcon/econoline vans.

2. we should start a list of parts that will work for a upgrade or mod over original.

3. get the list ...

is it a good idea to chop off the whole roof of an econo van?. its the panel model. a 64.

sometime in the life of this parts hauler an unskilled person tried to put a sunroof out of i dont know what car and just left a big hole in the roof...

i was thinking of chopping it all out. the whole roof and having a convertible van.

the other option is to work something like the VW "ragtop" bugs and buses have.. any ideas are welcomed..

Is this van worth the asking price? I have talked to the owner, and it seems that the van is really clean.

Van only has 66,000 miles and had been in storage for 12 years before current owner bought it at an auction.

I have always wanted a shorty since I passed one up about 5 years ago. I don't know what they are going for, so your help is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know if this type of hubcap is original for the Ford Falcon vans? I have 5 of them and I am thinking of posting them on Ebay for sale. So far all I found was that these hubcaps came on the 1961-62 Falcon cars. The hubcaps are dog dish type center caps.

If I do post them on Ebay for sale, does anyone know the going price for a set of these?

Thanks

Hey,

I was just down at the Ecology yard in Chula Vista, Ca and I found a very complete 1962 Ford Econoline Camper. It doesn't look picked over very much.

I've loved the first gen Econolines since I first saw one. Now that I'm 18 I can sort of afford to buy one, and since I'm a college student full time, using it as a daily driver doesn't seem like a horrible idea. I have a few questions though and was wondering if any of you could answer them.

ford 200 vs. 300

so my 61 econoline had a 200 out of a 67 mustang swapped in by one of the guys before me. but then it sat for over 10 years in a field and isn't in the happiest condition. it seems to me an inline 6 would cool better but if someone has experiance with a 302 or 351 i've love to hear. i'm mainly debating between going through the 200 and adding a few goodies or investing the time and money into a 300 my grandpa has in a truck thats been his lawn ornament for the past 15 years.
