Purchased yesterday, seller had this, a Corvair Van, and a '77 Dodge. Couldn't look at the others after seeing this one.

The bad: Outside rockers and driver's floor are all ate up. Dents, dings, scratches. Running on 3 cylinders.

The good: Otherwise awfully solid, spare front and side doors, axles, etc., and a good spare 250.

I'm having the seller (owns a hot rod shop) refresh the motor and do the swap, and refresh the brakes. I just don't have time/space/lift to do that right ...

Hi all, I just bought a 67 chevy van, I am working on getting it roadworthy, and dropping it. So this here is my inspiration for the van.

I tried to PM the guy who owns it on cardomain, but no luck. From what I can gather it's a static drop without bags, or a dropped axle. At least now I know it can be done.

Here is a pic of the stock suspension

One of the front spring perches was smashed, So I had to cut it off to straighten it. I went ahead and cut off the other one and modified ...

They look just like this one..

My wife and I just bought a great old '65 Chevy that we fell in love with.

Its a daily driver that has a host of little things that will need fixed as we go.

My first concern is the brakes, after everything warms up the pedal gets harder and harder to the point where its even dragging the brakes a little. The previous owner said he thought it was the master cylinder, which I have a spare of. Does this make sense? Is the master cylinder swap pretty straight forward?

thanks!

Okay, just picked up my '65 tonight and drove her home, about 30 miles, what a drive!

A few real basic questions:

What are good shift points for the manual 3 speed trannY? I've got a 250 in there and I know the tranny is at least newer than the original because it has syncros for 1st gear.

How much oil does a 250 hold with filter change?

What is the dwell setting, and where are the timing marks, what is it timed to?

What is the procedure for adjusting the E-brake? ...

I was able to drive my '69 108 panel down the street yesterday for the first time in 4 years. After sitting in a garage waiting for a rebuild while my 3 kids needed my time, I got it back on the road with the help and suggestions from many of you. I just want to say thanks for the help. I have some wiring issues to fix and now a leaking heater core. Freshly rebuilt 355 sounds nice and idles smooth. Next goal is fresh paint & new interior. Anyone out there in this same situation...don't ...

Radio Antenna

I've been putting some tunes in the 65 and ran into a small problem today. The end of the antenna wire that plugs into the radio is broken off. So far I haven't been able to find a new end to put back on the wire. Have already checked with Radio Shack ,Advance Auto, WalMart, Best Buy,and a local car audio store. Has anyone got any other ideas where to look? I know Radio Shack use to have them but not any more.

Windshield in and Flowmaster installed

I just picked up my 68 108 from the glass shop with the new windshield installed. Thats one way to get the glass cleaned? The flowmasters sound great and it's running pretty good. Next get a bigger steering wheel so maybe the horn will work! Hey! I'm almost legal.
