The best idea I have come up with so far for shipping is the get empty carpet tubes and nail a plywood plug in the end. Any other ideas??

Since the truck spent it's entire life in Fresno, it has been pretty painless to work on. Everything just seems to come right loose without the hassle of snapping every other bolt off.

I went through the brake hydraulics and replaced everything, since most of it was gummed up. That included bending new lines and reusing the old fitings , replaced the front wheel ...

Hello Everyone!

I guess I'm the official newbie to the group. I recently picked up a 1969 A108 from a member of this group. I have been looking for an A10X truck or van for a very long time and am very happy to have found this one. I plan on using it as a daily driver, a parts getter for my other projects, and a place to crash at the Big3.

My daughter thinks it's the ugliest vehicle on the face of the planet! What can I say...all of her friends drive Mustangs or Asian vehicles.

I discovered yesterday that the inside of my tank was in pretty bad shape with a few pin holes. The combination of sitting for for 30 years with fuel that turned to varnish and then going dry really did some damage. I considered flushing and then soldering...also considered cutting a section out to allow access to clean and then solder/braze/weld (would have to research best method) a fresh panel in. Very hard to justify all of that and having it done at a shop runs upwards of $150. No doubt ...

Is there a tag code that will ID it or a engine tag somewhere...worst case, I'll look at the castings. Shipping arrangements have been made, just waiting for the pick up date. With the shipping, the budget went over just a little but I feel alot better about this truck than many of the other trucks here in the midwest. If anythingI've found some parts trucks

My dads old friend Ron made this van, i believe its a 74. It had a 426 hemi for show and 440 for racing. He made a sub frame that had the motor and rear end together so he could change the motor trans and tires quickly. He sold the van and the person who has it now changed it a little, its the orange van shown on page 2.

Well I was working to take the a100 out for the first time this weekend; the only issue left to address is the brakes. Here’s my problem, the previous owner had started to revamp the brakes. The truck has new cylinders at all four corners, new lines, shoes, and the drums had been turned. After pulling the wheels to check it appears it does have all he said. All I had to do was bleed the system and be on my merry way (so I thought.) The gas pedal was a old door hinge so I decided to replace it...and drag my unwilling 14 year old to help me out. He is not much of a car kid ( I know I know..I am ashamed too .

He and I drilled the holes and cut the hole for the new arm thru the floor. I made a gasket out of a old rubber tube to keep the water from getting into the ...

Tire Size Help

Hey guys, thanks for the help in advance.

My a108 currently has 15 inch Cragar SS wheels, front is 15x7, rear is 15x8.

Tires on there currently

 Front P205/60/15

 Rear P255/60/15

I was trying to figure out what size to replace with. I want more of a rake, for aerodynamics.

For the rear, not sure if 275 is too wide, if 50 will look to small in the wheel well..

 275/ 50 or 60 / 15

For the front .... dunno =S

Your expertise would be appreciated.
