Well, a local musician friend has called me to say he's parting with his Econoline... registered, drove it through winters, but steering is too loose and needs new wiring now... "Corey, I'm sure I could get a little more, but I'll sell it to you for $300 because I know you love them!"

I do know of a guy that asked about buying one, so I may try to connect them... may buy it for myself, may make a deal with the current owner to refurbish the worn steering and wiring problems so ...

Here is the new parts van I just scored. It used to belong to wsds radio and then the michigan millia had it for a mobile transmitter. Complete with blue shag carpet, generator, LOTS of RUST, and a spare lawn mower gas tank mounted to the dog house for the 318 to run on.

Well I flew out to Arizona Friday and drove down to Tucson with my sister to get the GMC. After a check-up and short drive I bought it and planed to drive it home. It ran like crap for awhile, like the carb was junk, but it turned out to be just a loaded up engine. After it warmed up all the way, and with a full throttle start to blow the garbage out of her, she was purrin like a kitten. The carb is ALL out of adjustment, the idle is real high, and the choke sets at to high of a temp, but that ...

I got the 63 yesterday! A three hour drive became 10 for me, thanks to a sticky float in the Holley 1B, and a crack in the rad cap. But it is home!

The weird paint scheme is a rock band's calling card! This van is very solid! One rocker panel needing replacement, the gas filler cover needing work, and some screw holes in the roof needing welding. There is also an oddball window that needs to be gone, and some dents to bang out, including a caved-in roof... nothing I can't handle!

I found the van shortly after he posted it on the website. For those of you who don't know the story of the van; I found the van on ebay. The bid was only at one hundred dollars and best of all, it was about seven minutes away from our house. We bid on it but it went higher than we wanted to spend. Two had been sold off, but one was still in his step mother's driveway and she along with the city of Mountain View, CA, wanted it gone. It had been sitting untouched for eight years. We got there, and i was greeted with this, as my jaw dropped and my right front tire bounced off the curb.

Finally got my headliner in. Got the sun visors done too. Also got the top part of the front doors done in blue vinyl too. I think it looks pretty good. Need to get the side and rear doors and walls done but that will have to wait. The upholstery shop I take it to decided to more than double their prices so I need to find another shop. Shouldn't be hard since there are probably 30 or more shops within 20 miles of my house. Here's some pics. The headliner is bright white but looks kinda grey ...

I took a couple of pics while I was working on my truck today. Got the radiator hoses, and all but one of the gas hoses replaced. Painted the butt ugly tri-color wheels white, but I'll save posting that till after the baby moons get here.

Still, I am digging this truck!

Trying to run out some bad gas. I think the leak is just from flooding it.

I installed a NOS intake and exhaust mani, due to my old exhaust being broken. While I had it apart I cleaned and painted the engine, aircleaner, and manifolds and isulated the dog house with peel and stick sound proofing from JC whitney it made a big difference. I also installed a 3" fan shroud from JC whitney it fit nicley without any mods.

The short story is that my wife wanted to open a flower shop, and if I went along with the idea I'd get to pick the vehicle we'd purchase for local deliveries. Boy was she surprised when I told her what ...

I will be picking up my new van in 2 weeks. I am so excited! My wife thinks there is something seriously wrong with me. I been on this forum and any site with info on earlies every night for 2 weeks straight. What a bunch of cool, friendly, and knowledgable people on this site. I look forward to working with you all and hopefully meeting at a rally someday.
