So today was the day, my vans been on stands since about May 2008, and today was to be the day I drove it from the garage.

I reinstalled the radiator, put on the wheels, got it off the stands.

Put in the oil, filled the radiator, hooked-up the battery..

Got in, turned the key and nothing….

Just the red brake light would come on, but he lights and horn all worked.

I checked the fuses, and a few connections, but still nothing.

Then I remembered the button someone put ...

Is there a transmision builder here that can help?

The problem is assosiated with the TCC but is some what deeper then the basic control perifials, although the TCC should have nothing to do with gear shifting times as that is a hydraulic funtion. The 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 shift timing all changes back to normal when I disconect the TCC wiring. With the TCC connected it will shift 1-2-3-4 and then engage the TCC as low as 20 MPH and then you have to beet on it to get it to down shift, Its killing ...

I believe our vans have what I call a horn relay or regulator, if that's what it's called. Anyway, if there is such a thing as I believe, does it do anything other than work the horn? The reason I ask is this...I have had an electrical short for some time. If I leave the battery connected something drains the battery, thus I put a quick disconnect on the battery cable as a temporary resolution. While I was working on the van this evening my hand touched the "horn relay" and it was HOT ...

I recently started my rebuilt 355 last week for the first time. I noticed a rough idle, but it ran. After resetting the distributor a few times and working out some wiring issues with the coil & ballast, I now find some excessive backlash. If I turn the crank CLOCKWISE with a ratchet to TDC and then COUNTER CLOCKWISE, the distributor rotor won't move until the crank moves 8-10 degrees. Did my chain jump a tooth or is my distributor in need of replacement. I'm using a distributor with ...

OK...today I tried to assemble my parts for the New Upgrade to rear Disc brakes. The passenger side assembled with no problems, but was a bit tight. I then tried to assemble the driver's side, and there was NO way it would fit, as it was way too tight! I measure the rotor thickness at @ 1" and a shade under 1/16th inch?
OK......

So I "rejoined" the league of Chevyheads this week ( YEA YEA YEA).......bought a 67 shorty panel.

Two "small issues" I could use some input on before I dive into them.

1- fuel gauge is stuck at the 1/2 way mark. Is it likely the gauge is stuck or bad or the sender just stuck? The needle does move "slightly" but not much. I think a bad ground would make this gauge top out past the full mark.

2- It's been years & years since I used a power-glide ...

Are 350 and 250 motor mounts in the same place?

If I have a 250 and want to drop in a 350 do I have to change the motor mounts?

I might need to transport a 250 long distance and am looking for something the eninge can ride in for the trip. I figure something like whats in this picture would be best, but everyone makes them for small blocks, they dont say if they will work with a Inline 250.
